18 February GFTU Conference - Young People and Unions: New thinking , New action

Posted on Monday, January 11, 2010

There is a crisis going on. Young people are not being involved in the trade unions as they should be. Some Unions are doing excellent work to involve young  people  but the general problem as we all know is a serious one.

At a time of record youth unemployment and poverty young people need trade unions more than ever.  But  , how can we in the trade unions be attractive and relevant?

This Conference builds on a log of previous  work & new ideas  and is aimed at anyone concerned to really get a new generation of young activists involved. Experts in the field of youth participation will be running workshops at this Conference.

We hope you will send representatives including at least one young person to this important event.

There is no limit on delegation  numbers and refreshments and lunch will be available free of charge. There is no Conference registration fee.

The Conference will be held on Thursday 18 February 2010 at  NUT HQ, Mabledon Place, London WC1  (close to Euston, Kings Cross & St Pancras stations).
