GFTU EDUCATIONAL SPORTS FORUM LEARNING CENTRE

The General Secretary and Alan Irwin (GFTU Educational Partnerships Manager) attended the re-opening of a boxing gym in Corby with an ESF learning centre. The Mayor of Corby re-opened the gym saying that it was a magnificent amenity for the local area and enjoyed widespread support throughout the community. Corby Borough Council has invested £100,000 in the facility and it is the home for Corby Olympic Amateur Boxing Club.
Eight courses will be held at the gym in the next six months including national literacy and numeracy tests , cv writing and leadership skills.
