STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION GROUP MEETING.

A meeting of the Strategy Implementation Group ( SIG ) took place at Headland House on 19 October. The Group comprises of Joe Marino ( President ) , Joe Mann ( Vice-President ), John Fray,, Ben Marshall and Doug Nicholls. The remit of SIG is to recommend to the Executive Committee how the Strategic Plan 2009/11 adopted by Conference 2009 should be implemented.
The main item on the agenda at the meeting was fund raising and the Group met with Dave Howells to discuss funding strategies and opportunities. The Group is examining not only funding options for trades unions but also for registered charities like the GFTU Educational Trust.
The next meeting of SIG will be held on 6 November when portfolio management will be considered.
