PUBLIC SERVICES NOT PRIVATE PROFIT

A joint union campaign to defend public services against privatisation

PRESS NOTICE..........PRESS NOTICE............
For Immediate Release

Government’s policies undermining public services….Unions call for ‘public services, not private profit’

John McDonnell MP, Chair of the Public Services Not Private Profit campaign, said:

“The Government’s programme of job cuts and privatisation is undermining its own investment in our public services and is having a devastating effect on the morale of public sector workers. Rather than listening to big business, the Prime Minister should listen to the workers who are delivering services if he wants advice on how to run public services.

“Brown’s call for a pay freeze for workers in our public services is yet another blow to staff morale which is already at breaking point.

“Rising public concern at the Government’s policy of privatising our services has led fifteen public sector trade unions to form the Public Services Not Private Profit campaign, and on 27th June thousands of trade unionists will lobby their MPs to demand public services that serve public need rather than corporate greed.”
