GFTU GENERAL SECRETARY ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT & ELECTION PROCESS FOR SUCCESSOR

Dear Colleagues ,
I write to advise you that the GFTU Executive Committee has agreed to my request to step down as General Secretary next year. By that time I will be 60 years of age and will have completed 17 years in the post. I am fortunate enough to have contributed to the GFTU Pension Scheme for 30 years and will achieve maximum pension.
Accordingly next month we will commence an election process to elect my successor. I will be writing to all affiliates outlining the procedures and timetable for this process.
In the meantime do not hesitate to contact me if you have any query in respect of this matter.
