MAY DAY MARCH IN LONDON

Banners from GFTU unions were prominent on the London May Day March on May 1st. NUJ, BECTU, GMB & UNITE,were in the front of the march as it went from Clerkenwell Greem to Trafalgar Square. Veteran politician Tony Benn gave a rousing speech exoressing his strong belief in what the young people in society were going to do to fight against the injustices in the world. He was joined by Megan Dobney the Regional Secretary of SERTUC, Chris Baugh the AGS of PCS, Thierry Schaffauser of SERTUC LGBT & GMB SHOUT, Sean Vemell of UCS NEC, Kiri Tunks of NUT speaking about workers in Palestine, aspeakers from RMT, Turkish & Kurdish organisations. With music from the Big Red Band and singers greeting the march in the Square it was a highly succesful day.
