February 18 GFTU Conference - Young People and Unions : New thinking, New action
There is a crisis going on. Young people are not being involved in the trade unions as they should be. Some Unions are doing excellent work to involve young people but the general problem as we all know is a serious one.
At a time of record youth unemployment and poverty young people need trade unions more than ever. But how can we in the trade unions be attractive and relevant?
This Conference builds on a log of previous work & new ideas and is aimed at anyone concerned to really get a new generation of young activists involved.
Experts in the field of youth participation will be running workshops at this Conference.
We hope you will send representatives including at least one young person to this important event.
There is no limit on delegation numbers and refreshments and lunch will be available free of charge. There is no Conference registration fee.

GFTU Logo
This GFTU logo was an updated version of the original Walter Crane design, which was made for the new GFTU in 1899. The updated version was produced in 1930-1 when the Federation moved into its own purpose built Central House.
This design was on a plaque on the front of the building and was brought in and restored in 2008 by a specialist metal restorer. The current chain logo was produced in the early 1970s.
